WORCESTER, Mass. — A young woman died from injuries she suffered when her vehicle struck a steel pole on Route 146.
Police said the woman, 23, was driving south on Route 146 when she lost control of her car around 1:25 a.m. She hit a bullard, which is a steel pole, that was protecting a traffic control box.
The woman was able to call her boyfriend, who went to the scene and then took her to his home. At his home, they called an ambulance. The woman was taken to a local hospital and listed in critical condition. She died Friday night.
The Accident Reconstruction Team continues to investigate.
