BROCKTON, Mass. — Brockton police have arrested a woman they say went on a violent rampage Monday that lasted nearly nine hours.

According to investigators, it started around 8 a.m. when Anisha Johnson allegedly boxed a woman into her driveway and punched the victim in the face as she was leaving for work. Johnson is also accused of chasing the woman while she was running to try and find help.

"In my mouth. She hit me on like on the left side," said the victim. "I have never met her before. She is not a classmate, she is not anyone that I know."

Johnson vanished before police arrived, but hours later they were called about multiple hit-and-run crashed and a robbery near the Westgate Mall.

As police swarmed the mall, the victim of a purse snatching identified 28-year-old Johnson as the suspect.

That’s when Johnson allegedly ran over an officer’s foot with her car before fleeing and leading police on a high-speed chase.

The chase ended at the Route 24 off ramp with Johnson on the ground complaining about a “medical condition."

Johnson, a Taunton resident, was arraigned Tuesday on at least eight felony charges.

A doctor testified at the arraignment and said Johnson has been dealing with mental health issues.

"She indicated she has not taken her medication regularly recently," said Dr. Jackson.

The woman who was punched saw a doctor and dentist for a number of loose teeth.

"She looked so normal and so calm. When I spoke to her she was so calm," said the daughter of the victim.

The officer whose foot was hit did not need medical treatment.

Johnson is being held until she undergoes a full competency evaluation. Police said she will be back in court next month.
