WILMINGTON, Mass. — The Wilmington School Superintendent was arrested in August on an OUI charge.
The news of Mary DeLai's arrest broke Sunday. She has been working at the school and it's unclear when the school committee learned of her arrest.
The School Committee told FOX25 Sunday that they are aware of the situation and will have a statement after an executive session Monday.
Parents told FOX25 they are fuming because this news comes a month after her arrest.
"That's the worst part about it. It should've been taking care of back in August," said Nick Addario.
This news also comes on the heels of, the physical education teacher Anthony Alteiri being arrested on domestic assault charges on Sept. 11.
DeLai allowed him back on the job, just a few days after his arrest and many parents were not happy.
Parents are even more upset, that DeLai was allowed to make that decision, while no one even knew about her OUI arrest.
DeLai has been the superintendent for Wilmington Schools since July 2014, according to her LinkedIn. In July of this year, she received the President's Award from Massachusetts Association of School Business Officials, Inc, reports the Wilmington Patch.
DeLai reportedly signed a three-year contract with the school district through June 30, 2017.
