NEWTON, Mass. -- A very scary moment for a public school bus driver when a man stopped in front of him on the Mass Pike and jumped on the hood.

The school bus dash cam captured a red car driving erratically - nearly clipping another car - before stopping in the middle of the Mass Pike in Newton.

The driver then got out of his car and walked toward the school bus.

State Police have identified the driver as a 42-year-old Dorchester man and their investigation is ongoing.

On Massachusetts State Police's Twitter account, they announced a summons had been issued for the man, and he is being charged with disorderly conduct, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, failure to use care in stopping, and a marked lanes violation.

Police also asked the Registry of Motor Vehicles for an immediate threat license suspension/revocation.

Joe Rizoli says in his 39 years of driving a bus for Weston Public Schools, he's never experienced anything like this.

He said he had just finished his afternoon route Tuesday and was heading back to the bus lot.

"What normal person pulls a person over on the Mass Pike in the middle lane? That's not normal," said Rizoli.

Rizoli says he had just bought and installed the dash cam several months ago because he wanted to record the many traffic violations he witnessed on a daily basis.  He believes that dash cam prevented anything worse from happening.

"He got on the hood! Where's he going from the hood? I didn't understand what he was going to do," said Rizoli.

In the video, you can see the man climbing onto the hood of the bus before eventually climbing back down.

"Then I say to him, 'there's a dash cam here recording you.' He acknowledged it and gets down and starts going into his tirade," said Rizoli.

Rizoli says the man kept shouting "Why are your windows so dark?" and asking whether there were any kids on board, which, thankfully, there were not.

Eventually, Rizoli says he managed to drive off.
