West Roxbury traffic stop leads to drug arrest

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A traffic stop in West Roxbury near the Dedham line led Massachusetts State Police to find drugs in the car, which led to the driver's arrest.

While on patrol Tuesday afternoon, a state police officer noticed a 1999 Volkswagen Passat registered to a person with a warrant issued.

The man driving the car was 28-year-old Robert Thompson, of Fall River, who had a warrant issued for him out of Brockton District Court, for motor vehicle offenses and carrying a dangerous weapon.

Troopers arrested and brought Thompson to the Framingham state police barracks, where he was booked on additional heroin and marijuana-related charges.

In the trunk of the car, troopers found 27 individually wrapped baggies of marijuana, and five larger, sealed plastic bags containing heroin.
