West Nile virus found in Millbury

MILLBURY, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Health officials say West Nile virus has been detected in Millbury.

Officials announced mosquitoes collected in the town tested positive for the virus Wednesday.

The western quadrant of Millbury will be sprayed after 8 p.m. on Aug. 27 in an effort to reduce the mosquito population.

There have been no reported cases of West Nile virus in humans this year. One person, a Weymouth woman, died on Aug. 16 after contracting Eastern equine encephalitis, which is another mosquito-borne illness.
