West Brookfield man's body pulled from river after solo fishing trip

WEST BROOKFIELD, Mass. — A West Brookfield man's body was pulled from the Quaboag River Saturday, according to the Worcester County District Attorney's Office.

Kevin Dion, 54, had packed lunch and headed out on a fishing trip that day, according to a release.

Police say they were contacted by Dion's friends later that afternoon when he wasn't answering his phone. His chair and other belongings were found on the river bank.

The district attorney's office says the death does not appear to be suspicious.

Around 6:30 p.m., a boat spotted Dion's body in the water.
