A new list released by Fortune names the 20 best retail workplaces, and a Boston-based company made the list.
Fortune says the 20 companies got rave reviews from staff for supportive work environments and plenty of opportunities for advancement.
For the second straight year, the number one retail workplace is Wegmans. The grocery store, based in Rochester, New York, employs more than 47,000 people at 122 locations, including five locations in Massachusetts. A sixth location will be opening in Natick in 2018.

2. QuikTrip: Oklahoma-based grocery store employs 20,000 people at 779 locations.
3. Publix: Florida-based grocery store employs nearly 190,000 people at 1,170 locations.
4. Build-A-Bear Workshop: Missouri-based company employs 3,000 people at 189 locations.
5. CarMax: Virginia-based auto retailer employs over 24,000 people at 281 locations.
6. Nugget Market: California-based grocery employs nearly 2,000 people at 19 locations.
7. Sheetz: Pennsylvania-based grocery employs over 15,000 people at 569 locations.
8. REI: Washington-based outdoor store employs nearly 12,000 people at 159 locations.
9. The Wireless Experience: New Jersey-based AT&T retailer employs 412 people at 83 locations.
10. SlideBelts: California-based store employs 30 people at one location.
11. Custom Ink: Virginia-based clothing store employs 1,500 people at 7 locations.
12. Wayfair: Boston-based home store employs 5,600 people at 18 locations.
13. Old Navy: California-based clothing store employs 51,000 people at 959 locations.
14. Foot Locker: NYC-based shoe store employs 36,000 people at 2,500 locations.
15. Nordstrom: Seattle-based clothing store employs 66,000 people at 372 locations.
16. Patagonia: California-based outdoor clothing store employs 1,400 people at 33 locations.
17. Burlington stores: New Jersey-based clothing store employs 35,000 people at 603 locations.
18. RevZilla.com: Philly-based motorcycle gear store employs 250 people at 3 locations.
19. The Container Store: Texas-based store employs 4,000 people at 88 locations.
20. Whole Foods: Austin-based grocery store employs 83,000 people at 539 locations.
