WEBSTER, Mass. — Several people have had hundreds of dollars stolen from them after using their debit cards at ATMs equipped with skimming devices.

According to the Webster Police Department on Facebook, the scam devices were found at two banks.

Webster Five bank said the devices were installed at branches in Webster and Dudley after business hours and removed before opening in the morning.

"They had tried to go into my account in NY and take another $500 out,” skimming victim Erin Prescott said.

The bank said customers are not responsible for fraud, but they advise everyone who used one of the ATMs to monitor their accounts closely.

"When you use an ATM, don't be afraid to visually and physically inspect the spot where you put your card," the Webster PD said on Facebook.
