Photos of the suspect was given first to Boston 25 News with the hopes the public can help locate him.

Since May 2016, investigators said the 128 Bandit has either robbed, or tried to rob, 12 banks along Route 128 in and around Boston.

Surveillance photos show the same man with a stocky build wearing glasses passing a note to tellers demanding cash and threatening that he was armed.

And now the 128 Bandit is starting to pick up the pace, according to the FBI.

Investigators said last Friday he robbed a bank in Bedford. The same day he tried, and failed, to rob a bank in Chestnut Hill.

The FBI Bank Robbery Task Force is offering a “sizable reward” in the case.

Anyone who recognizes the robber or knows anything that could help investigators is being asked to call the tip line by dialing 617-680-4525.
