Walmart opening warehouse, bringing 30 new jobs to Westminster

Walmart is now giving bonuses to employees who don't call off sick.

WESTMINSTER, Mass. — Walmart is opening a warehouse in Westminster that will bring more than two dozen new jobs to the town, a company spokesperson confirmed to Boston 25 News.

The facility is one of several specialty warehouses the retailer expects to open throughout the country in December.

The warehouses will store and ship fixtures to support store remodels and similar projects in the region.

Right now, the company uses pop-up storage facilities near the stores being remodeled.

Each new warehouse will employ about 30 full-time associates.

The employees will be new hires, although current associates can transfer.

The jobs haven’t been announced yet. The company expects to post them online in the next few weeks.
