SWAMPSCOTT, Mass. — Two Lynn police officers were injured after a chase that ended in Swampscott Friday afternoon.
Both officers suffered minor injuries and are expected to be okay. One of the officers was transported to a local hospital.
Lynn Police responded to a firearm investigation around 3:30 p.m. in the area of Pinkham Street and Violet Street.
Officers attempted to stop the suspect when he took off in a vehicle, striking an officer in the leg as he drove away.
Lynn Police initiated a pursuit, but terminated the chase due to safety concerns.
The suspect was seen a short time later in Swampscott.
Swampscott Police with help from the State Police stopped the suspect on Essex Street and arrested him. A firearm was recovered at the scene.
A second Lynn police officer was injured while assisting with the arrest.
The suspect will be facing charges. An investigation is ongoing at this time.
