LOWELL, Mass (MyFoxBoston.com) - Two people died after their car was engulfed in flames Sunday morning.
Family members confirmed 20-year-old Justin Fisher and 22-year-old Victoria Valante and were the in the car when it crashed around 12:20 a.m. Sunday. The investigation indicated the couple was driving south on Bridge Street when they struck a utility pole on the right side of the roadway and flipped.
The pole, which had transformers on top, was split into three pieces. When police arrived, they found the car fully engulfed and covered in live electrical wires. Officers would see someone partially ejected, but due to the fire and power lines, they were unable to get close enough to attempt a rescue.
Justin Fisher's father, James, said the couple were high school sweethearts. Justin was an aspiring music producer and Victoria was into fashion.
Police are still working to figure out how the crash happened. They don't believe any other vehicle was involved.
