SALEM, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A man and a woman were arrested Friday on drug charges while shopping with a small child at a Babies "R" Us in Salem.
Police responded to a report of suspicious activity in the Babies "R" Us parking lot and discovered a vehicle with drug paraphernalia, including syringes that were found both inside and outside of the car, according to the Salem Police Department.
Shortly after, Lindsay Bolton, 26, and Paul Loiselle, 31, got into the vehicle with a 2-year-old child. Officers found the two to be under the influence of drugs.
While observing the child, officers noticed the baby reaching into Bolton's purse, which they found to contain an uncapped syringe.
Bolton and Loiselle were charged with possession of heroin while Bolton was also charged with transporting drugs in a motor vehicle, endangering the welfare of a child, and altering and destroying evidence. Bolton was held on a probation violation while Loiselle refused bail.
The child was taken to Holy Family Hospital for a screening before being released to a family member.
