A ceremony was held Friday to honor a Massachusetts State Trooper who died in the line of duty two years ago.

MSP and state officials hosted a ceremony in Charlton to dedicate a memorial in honor of Trooper Thomas Clardy.

The Massachusetts Turnpike bridge and a roadway have been named after Clardy.

Clardy died after a car crashed into his cruiser while he was working a detail on the Pike.

He left behind a wife and six children.

Police say David Njiguna of Webster was high on medical marijuana when he slammed into Clardy's cruiser. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
