On Thursday, the school added to the Facebook post, saying they have been receiving donations from people across the world who saw the video and wanted to share the joy. The school said any donations they receive will be used for financial aid and scholarships, and to support The Father McKenna Center, which provides services and shelter to the homeless.

The video on Facebook, shared by Holy Trinity School Georgetown, shows Ms. Fitz, the third grade teacher, throwing a Hail Mary. The caption explains that she promised all the third graders hot chocolate if she made the shot. And as the school explains, “God was looking out for her.”

While Ms. Fitz gets the credit for the shot, she did get an assist from a student dressed as Rudolph, KSL-TV reported.
