A Hernando County Sheriff’s Office said a deputy stationed at a Walmart in Brooksville heard an explosion around 5 a.m. and called for backup from the fire department, WFLA reported.

The flames eventually spread to the other two tractor trailers. By 7:30 a.m. the fire was extinguished. By 8 a.m. the store was reopened.

Investigators said a tractor trailer parked near two others on the rear west side of the store was fully engulfed in flames. The deputy ran to the vehicles to ensure no one was inside them and removed one person from a tractor trailer that was not on fire. Because the flaming tractor trailer was so close to the building, deputies evacuated the store.

No one was injured. The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of the explosion.
