SAN FRANCISCO — Organizers announced Wednesday that San Francisco’s Outside Lands festival won’t go on as planned in Golden Gate Park, making it the latest big event forced to adjust amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The festival had been scheduled to run from Aug. 7-9.

“After lengthy discussions with local and state health authorities about the impact of COVID-19 both in our community and throughout the world, we believe it is in the best interest of everyone’s health and safety that Outside Lands not be held in 2020,” organizers said in a letter posted on Instagram.

"We all miss the much-needed community and positivity that comes with our annual celebration in San Francisco and we look forward to bringing the music back in 2021."

Instead, organizers announced the lineup for Outside Lands 2021, which is set to run from Aug. 6-8, 2021. Organizers said people who bought tickets for this year’s event will be able to use them for Outside Lands 2021. Refunds are also available to ticket holders.

Outside Lands 2021 will be headlined by Tame Impala, Lizzo and The Strokes. Tickets for the event will go on sale beginning Thursday.
