MANISTEE COUNTY, Mich. — A Michigan woman is accused of killing a man and two of his dogs, authorities said.
Angelee Noel Ross, 40, of Cadillac, was charged with open murder, two counts of third-degree torturing or killing an animal, and three felony firearms counts, The Record-Eagle of Traverse City reported. Ross was arraigned via videoconference on Friday, the newspaper reported.
Ross is accused of killing William Joseph Johnson, 56, of Wellston, WPBN reported. Johnson’s two dogs were also found dead, the television station reported.
If convicted, Ross faces up to life in prison, the Record-Eagle reported.
The deaths occurred either late Tuesday or early Wednesday, police said.
According to a news release by the Michigan State Police, Johnson “sustained multiple acts of violence to his head and body resulting in his death.” The two dogs also “showed signs of significant trauma caused by multiple stab wounds to their bodies,” according to the release.
According to the news release, Ross and Johnson were in a previous dating relationship and were still acquaintances.
Ross is being held without bail in the Manistee County Jail, the Ludington Daily News reported. Her next scheduled court appearance is April 6.
