Going home for the holidays: Dog’s 500-day journey in shelter has happy ending

A dog that had spent almost 500 days in an animal shelter has a new home and a new best friend for life.

Bonita was at the Niagara SPCA and was considered the shelter’s longest resident, WKBW reported.

But now, Bonita has a new home, and it came as an early Christmas present for both the 5-year-old pit bull mix and the workers and volunteers at the shelter who came to say goodbye last week.

Bonita now lives with Ray Kinz, and you can follow Kinz’s and Bonita’s new life together on Instagram.
