In a news release, the Brevard Zoo said the primate was born to 31-year-old Shelley and 25-year-old Shooter on April 15.

The sex of the baby is not yet known, zoo officials said. Shelley has also given birth to three other spider monkeys -- Tica, 19; Prim, 7; and Olive, 2, according to WFTV. Tica is expecting her own baby in the near future according to the television station.

“Shelley is a pro at caring for her offspring,” Lauren Hinson, the zoo’s director of animal programs, said in a statement.

The newborn has some distinctive markings on its face that appear to be a “Batman” symbol on its nose, CNN reported.
