DES MOINES, Iowa — After hours of speculation over what occurred during what appeared to be a frosty exchange between Democratic presidential candidates Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders after Tuesday night’s debate, CNN has released audio of their conversation.
“I think you called me a liar on national TV,” Warren told Sanders as the candidates prepared to leave the stage, according to the network .
“What?” asked Sanders, who appeared to be surprised.
”Anytime," Warren said.
Read More After Warren repeated her comment, Sanders responded, “You know, let’s not do it right now. If you want to have that discussion, we’ll have that discussion."
Sanders then insisted that Warren called him a liar before the pair parted ways.

During the debate, both candidates addressed recent reports that Sanders told Warren during a 2018 meeting that a woman could not win the presidential election. Sanders has denied the claim.
