A New York man was arrested after authorities said they found a gun concealed in a DVD player that the man was trying to take through airport security.
One of the man's checked bags triggered a security alarm Saturday at John F. Kennedy International Airport, the Transportation Security Administration said in a statement.
Port Authority police arrested the man, who is from Elmhurst, New York, and was on his way to Mexico. He faces weapons violations charges.
Officers opened the bag and found a DVD player inside. When officers further inspected the DVD player, they found that a 9 mm handgun wrapped in aluminum foil was inside, the TSA said.
