NEW YORK — Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton took to Twitter Saturday to clarify remarks she made Friday night about Donald Trump supporters that has sparked Republican criticism.
At a campaign fundraiser in New York, Clinton said, "To just be grossly generalistic, you can put half of Trump supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables," Clinton said. "Right? Racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic, you name it."

Clinton went on to say that some of these people were "irredeemable" and "not America," according to CNN.
