GUADALAJARA, Mexico — It was an amazing sight for those living in Guadalajara. More than three feet of ice blanketed the area Sunday because of a hailstorm, CNN reported.

The storm left roads, yards and cars under ice and slush, The Washington Post reported.

"Hail more than a meter high, and then we wonder if climate change exists," Ramirez said on Twitter.

Jalisco Gov. Enrique Alfaro Ramirez said he had never seen anything like it.

The Mexican army had to be called in to help local authorities to clean up the mess, according to CNN.

Water had to be pumped from some areas that started to flood once the ice melted, the Post reported.
