Tree crashes onto Newton home as powerful winds move through area

NEWTON, Mass. — Homeowners in Newton are waking up to major damage from strong winds that moved through the area Tuesday night.

The damage was reported before 11 p.m. at a home on Brentwood Avenue, which is not far from Newton Center.

Those outages were being restored as of Tuesday morning.

Luckily, no injuries have been reported.

The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency power outage statistics show 30 customers in Newton who are without power as crews continue to try and remove the tree from the home and restore power to the area.

No other information was immediately available.
