Travelers cut it close with long lines at Logan Airport

BOSTON — Long lines are surfacing at Logan International Airport as people are making their way home after the holiday, or heading toward their New Year’s destination.

Some travelers waited almost an hour just to check bags on Friday.

“We didn’t expect it to be this long,” said Tom Weikle.

Travelers filing into Logan were hoping to get out without a hitch.

But it wasn’t smooth sailing for some Delta flyers Friday evening, who were stuck in long lines just to drop off bags.

“It is so sucky, it’s unfortunately long. Kind of worried that we’ll miss our flight,” said Ludwig Ahgren.

The lines of people with suitcases in tow doubled by the minute, even causing some confusion as some couldn’t even tell where the line started.

“They pulled us out of the line back there and told us we had to come down here to get, because we have luggage, then when we sat down the guy said we had to go back to the end of the line!” said Joe Rogers.

“It’s kind of like school, when you line up for lunch you just kind of figure it out and maybe you’re in the right spot," Ludwig said.

But it’s a busy time of year, and some did remember to pack their patience.

“It’s the holidays. You have to expect something,” said Terry Allen.

Others, well not so much.

“Some of us are handling it better than others, how about that,” said Gabriel Levy.

Security lines at Terminal A were not so bad on Friday night. It was just the bag drop that really caused delays for people. Things quieted down though, but if you’re flying out on Saturday and you’re checking a bag, just remember to add in that wiggle room.
