BOSTON — Trash is piling up along the Commuter Rail tracks at Back Bay station and some say it's been doing so for quite some time.
One commuter contacted FOX25 after seeing the same pile for nearly a year and snapping pictures of it at different times.
"Every day I see the same trash that I've seen for over a year," commuter David Phillips said.
He says he's been staring at the same trash can lid next to the tracks all year and has taken pictures to document it.

He has alerted the MBTA, the Commuter Rail and Amtrak to the trash via Twitter. He's even alerted the mayor's office.
"Another month went by, nothing happened. So I tweeted them again, nothing happened," said Phillips.
The agencies said it would be addressed, but it's still there.
"It's really sad that people are pointing fingers and it's not getting done," Phillips said. "Our leaders talk about what a world class city this is. Well, for a world class city, it should also be clean."
FOX25 reached out to the MBTA and Keolis. After going back and forth, they both say it's Amtrak's responsibility to maintain the tracks.
Phillips has had enough. He says the trash could be unsafe, but it's definitely unflattering.
"I just like taking pride in my city," Phillips said.
Monday evening, Amtrak sent the following statement to FOX25:
Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. Among their many other duties, Amtrak Engineering forces in the Maintenance of Way department are responsible for keeping Amtrak property and infrastructure safe. While the situation illustrated in the photos does not appear to pose an immediate safety hazard, crews will be dispatched to the location to assess the situation and remove the debris.
