Terrorism expert analyzes Tsarnaev's Watertown boat note

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) - A lawyer for the admitted Boston Marathon bomber aggressively cross examined the FBI's computer expert, Supervisory Special Agent Kevin Swindon, much of it done to show the jury that Dzhokhar was not the only Tsarnaev family member who had access to the computers  the FBI analyzed.

The defense also moved to show that someone else could have downloaded and accessed jihadi messages found on Dzhokhar's laptop and the home computer.

But on Monday afternoon, the government fired back, focusing on Dzhokhar's writings inside the Watertown boat in which he was found hiding.

The government played for the jury samples of three of audio messages by Anwar al-Awlaki, an Islamic militant and al-Qaeda member killed by US drone strikes.

Those messages were discovered on hard drives recovered at the scene of the Watertown shootout.

The government is trying to prove that Dzhokhar listened to those messages, and the he was self radicalized.

They will try to use the messages to prove that Dzhokhar was not under his brother's spell, but that he was a true believer, and should get the death penalty.

Testimony resumes Tuesday morning.
