TAUNTON, Mass. — Police in Taunton are hoping to dig up clues in a 17-year-old cold case, sources told Boston 25 News.
Investigators dup up part of a front yard outside a home on Bryan Drive Friday and returned to the area Monday.
A source told Boston 25 News the dig is connected to the search for Debbie Melo, a 30-year-old mother of two who disappeared in June of 2000.
Her husband, Luis Melo, told police he let her out of the car on Route 18 in Weymouth during a fight. She disappeared and hasn't been seen since.
Debbie wasn’t reported missing by her husband until the next day. Her family said they believe she would've never abandoned her two children.
No arrests have been made.
