DUXBURY, Mass. — Swastikas have been showing up at several schools in Duxbury, and parents are frustrated and embarrassed.
"It's very disappointing, it's very disappointing. The whole community is shocked,” said Anna Essley, the parents of a middle school student.
On Monday, school officials were notified by a student that a swastika, about an inch wide, was discovered on the side of a sink inside one of the boys' bathrooms.
Two weeks ago, a swastika was also discovered inside a boy's bathroom inside Duxbury Middle School.
That was just one day after a swastika was found on a bleacher in the high school gym.
Duxbury's superintendent said they are reviewing video surveillance of the latest incident and the students who wrote swastikas two weeks ago were both caught.
"We won't stand for this in our district and anytime we catch somebody they have meaningful learning opportunities and quite frankly, disciplinary consequences,” said Dr. Ben Tantill, Duxbury Schools Superintendent.
Duxbury police are now investigating.
