Suspect 1 driving record shows warrant, list of violations

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – A driving record for suspect 1 in the Boston Marathon bombings had a lengthy driving record and a warrant issued in 2008.

According to the information provided by the Mass. RMV, Tamerlan Tsarnaev held an active license in the Commonwealth, but had a history of violations.

Tsarnaev was pulled over three times in a two week period in July of 2005. The first violation was for failure to use safety in Brookline. The next day he was pulled over for a lane violation in Charlestown. A week later, he was issued a citation for speeding and improper passing in Brookline.

In March 2008, he was cited in Dorchester for attaching plates and speeding. The plates charge was dismissed.

Then, in Sept. 2007, Tsarnaev was pulled over for a lane violation in Brookline. Two months later he was cited for not having a registration or license in his possession and traveling the wrong way on a one-way street in Brighton.

In April 2008, records show he took a course to avoid having a suspended license. That same month, he was issued a warrant out of Dorchester District Court. The warrant was released on June 23.

His license was then suspended from July to October 2008.

In March 2009, he was issued a seat belt violation and a warning for failure to stop in Boston.

Tsarnaev died following a gun battle with police in Watertown last week. Officers said his brother and fellow suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings ran him over with an SUV as he fled police.
