STOUGHTON, Mass. — Stoughton police are looking for a man they say attacked someone last Monday at the YMCA.

According to the police, the person was left with serious injuries.

The suspect was caught on surveillance video and police described him as “a Hispanic or light-skinned black male.”

He is about 5-foot, 8 inches to 5 feet, 10 inches tall, with no hair and a big bushy beard. Police say he has tattoos on his left arm and was wearing gray shorts and a blue T-shirt.

It all started as a fight, that the victim stepped in to break up. Police say that's when he was attacked by another man.

“We have to be better. YMCA is a place where kids can go, and have fun and it shouldn’t be a place where they have to worry about violence,” YMCA member Todd Glass said.

Police are asking the man to turn himself in and are seeking the public’s help identifying him.

“We are fully cooperating with local authorities to identify the perpetrator involved in this incident. We take the health and well-being of our members’ very seriously. Our thoughts are with the individual that was injured and we wish them a speedy recovery,” a statement from the YMCA said.
