MANCHESTER, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) – The Manchester Police Department is looking to find Jerry, a Percheron draft horse, a new permanent home.
Jerry was purchased for the mounted unit of the department; however, after months of training, police have decided that the 6-year-old horse is too "spirited" for the force.
Police said the horse had a difficult time standing in one place for a period of time.
Jerry stands 18 hands high and weighs almost a ton. His handlers say he would make a great show horse.
Police are asking for $4,000 for Jerry. The money will be used to purchase another horse.
All those interested are asked to contact the Manchester Police Department at 603-668-8711.
