BOSTON — Simmons University is arming students with a personal safety device in case of emergencies.
The device is called a POM, which stands for peace of mind.
The POM connects to your smartphone. If you ever feel like you're in a situation that isn't safe, you can press the device three times to quickly and discreetly connect you to the simmons public safety or the nearest 911 call center.
All undergraduate students can get one.
