UPTON, Mass. — Police and fire crews are responding to multiple calls from a twister that hit Worcester County around 2:40 a.m. The tornado tracked up to 1 mile, with speeds of up to 100 m.p.h.

Main Street in Upton was closed to most traffic early Thursday because of extensive wind damage.

Part of a porch roof blew off a building and landed on the opposite side, wedging itself up against the building.

Mangled fences, downed trees and debris is strewn throughout Upton, with National Grid on scene for power outages and downed wires.

A pickup truck was crushed under a fallen tree. A man's truck was crushed when an uprooted tree fell on it.

Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.
