Serial bank robber held on $25,000 bail

BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - The Dorchester woman suspected in five bank robberies in the city, including three on the same day, faced a judge in Boston Municipal Court on Wednesday.

State and FBI investigators say FOX 25 was instrumental in the capture of 45-year-old  Johanna Quish who is allegedly responsible for bank robberies in downtown Boston, Dorchester, and Jamaica Plain. In each, Quish allegedly handed the teller a note with a monetary amount saying, "give me that or I'll hurt you."

Quish was charged and arraigned Wednesday for her alleged role in the unarmed robbery of the Sovereign Bank on Boylston Street.

In court documents, a longtime friend of Quish allegedly got a call from the suspect, saying  her boyfriend saw her on FOX 25 and that she wanted to turn herself in. The FBI took Quish into custody Monday.

Quish has been held on $25,000 bail and ordered back to court on June 6. She is also facing a driving without a license charge from 2010.
