LOWELL, Mass. — A second teacher from Lowell High School has been accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student.

Sources tell Boston 25 News reporter Stephanie Coueignoux the teacher involved in this most recent investigation has been put on administrative leave. According to sources, the teacher allegedly had a sexual relationship with an underage student at Lowell High School.

Students told Coueignoux they've known about the alleged relationship for awhile.

Sources say this teacher had been put on paid administrative leave in the past, but it is unclear whether that leave stemmed from the same allegations.

This comes after Boston 25 News reported on Wednesday about another Lowell High School teacher accused of sending love letters to a student.

Sources say law enforcement are also looking into allegations this teacher also gave sleeping pills to students.

When Coueignoux went to the superintendent's office Friday for comment on both investigations, she was told the deputy superintendent would be releasing a statement, but as of now, Boston 25 News has not received a response.

Boston 25 News is not identifying either teacher since no formal charges have been filed.

The Middlesex District Attorney's Office said they are working with Lowell police to look further into the matter and are unable to comment at this time.
