PLYMOUTH, Mass. — A search that was launched early Monday morning when an overturned kayak was found in Plymouth Harbor has been suspended.
Officials with the Coast Guard said a 10-foot, lime green kayak was found with a paddle connected to it around 4 a.m. by a fisherman.
A 29-foot response boat was launched from Station Scituate and a helicopter from Air Station Cape Cod was called in to assist.
The Duxbury harbormaster also responded to assist with the search.
Officials said there was nothing to indicate someone was actually in the water, but crews were searching the area as a precaution.
There have been no reports of anyone who is missing, and the kayak has no identifying information regarding who it belongs to.
Coast Guard officials said it's important for people to label kayaks with important information to help them identify who it belongs to in situations like this.
