ROCKLAND, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A toddler was rushed to the hospital after falling out of a four story window on Thursday.
The little boy was transferred from South Shore Hospital to Boston Children's Hospital Thursday evening.
A friend told FOX25 the toddler suffered from a collapsed lung. The boy's mom and relatives are by his side.
The little boy was reportedly doing what any curious toddler would do, but friends say he went a little too far. The boy fell out of a fourth floor window.
"He was just climbing a chair. And there was a fan in window too," family friend Cayla Jacobs said. "He probably pushed the fan."
It happened at the Sheridan Square Condominiums in Rockland while the mother was getting her kids ready to go to the pool. The boy's aunt didn't want to be identified.
"My kids yell, 'Caleb fell out the window!'" said the boy's aunt, who asked not to be identified. "The fan wasn't there and I just looked out he was down there and I just flew, I flew out the house."
Doctors are trying to figure out if the boy hit himself on any air conditioner units on the way down. Luckily, he landed feet away from a ground pole.
"It's something we would never expect to happen," said family friend Uriel Ngeta. "Because the family was always in watching the kids all the time."
The 2-year-old was in stable condition Thursday night.
