Rochester, N.H. Police hope to find new home for rescued dog

ROCHESTER, N.H. — Police in Rochester, New Hampshire are hoping to find a new home for a dog who was abused by her previous owner.

"Someone please save Cairo!," a Facebook post by the department begins.

Police said Cairo's previous owner allegedly used a stun gun on her as a form of punishment. He was arrested and charged with two counts of animal cruelty and one count of simple assault.

Police said she has gone through the assessment process and is ready for adoption.

Cairo was rescued and brought to the Cocheco Valley Humane Society in Dover, New Hampshire.

Cairo is a 6-year-old, 93-pound Mastiff Mix.

Police said she is waiting patiently to be adopted by her forever family.
