The Red Sox announced Friday that Mookie Betts would be put on the 10-day disabled list.
The move is retroactive to May 29, and Betts has already missed the team's last five games with a left abdominal strain.
The team will make a move to replace Betts on the roster before their game against the Houston Astros on Saturday.
