Raynham Police searching for man who allegedly stabbed woman with scissors, fled into woods

RAYNAHM, Mass. — The Raynham Police Department is actively searching for 24-year-old Jacob Szalno.

The man allegedly stabbed a woman multiple times with a pair of scissors in her home on Wednesday afternoon.

Police responded to the home on Broadway for a report of a stabbing at approximately 4:00 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers found a 33-year-old woman that was suffering from six stab wounds.

She was transported to an area hospital with injuries that are serious but not believed to be life-threatening.

Police believe the incident is not random and that the victim and suspect were friends.

After stabbing her, the suspect allegedly fled the house on foot into a nearby wooded area.

Several officers responded to the scene including K-9 officers from Raynham and the Massachusetts Department of Correction.

Officers set up a perimeter and searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

Szalno’s last known address is a Brockton homeless shelter and he has a warrant out for his arrest on charges of attempted murder, mayhem, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery.

Police are warning people not to approach the suspect. If you know his whereabouts you are urged to call 911.
