QUINCY, Mass. — The Quincy YMCA is a haven for families and people looking to work out like Brett Loop.

“It’s a big community. There’s a lot of people who come to the Quincy YMCA," said Loop, a YMCA member.

And that includes thieves.

Quincy Police released pictures last week of 3 men and  woman wanted for breaking into lockers.

Police say the men stole wallets, credit cards and even keys to cars parked outside, returning the keys after ransacking the cars.

“There’s always a couple of bad actors. It’s good that they caught the people doing this," said Loop.

At first, police thought the 4 worked together but after investigating, figured out they were working on their own.

“Tsk. It’s sophisticated. Yup," Loop said.

Police say the woman acted as a lookout for one of the men. She even tried to use a stolen credit card at a local target.

“I think they should let people know about that. That’s their personal items and you don’t want any of that stolen," said Tom Bouchier, YMCA member.

Members tell us the Y did not alert them to the thefts.

Police did identify one of the men. They say 43-year-old Engi Rustem is a professional thief from California, wanted in 6 states for similar crimes.

He was arrested in Nashua, N.H. for breaking into a YMCA locker and stealing credit cards and keys.

Members like Brett are glad they all were caught, and now hopes to put his trust back into the Y.

“Honestly I come here a few times a week and I don’t lock up my stuff because it’s kind of a trust thing you have in the Y," Loop said.
