BOSTON — Both the prosecution and defense have rested in the trial for the man accused of crashing into and killing Massachusetts State Police Trooper Thomas Clardy.
Closing arguments are scheduled for Tuesday morning.
In testimony Monday, the court heard from two doctors. One testified for the prosecution, saying David Njugana had no prior history with seizures.
Prosecutors say Njugana was under the influence of marijuana that he purchased at a dispensary about an hour before the crash.
Njugana's attorney argued he suffered a seizure on the day of the crash and that's why he crashed into Trooper Clardy's cruiser.
After closing arguments, Superior Court Judge Janet Kenton-Walker will decide the verdict in the bench trial, which will likely take several days after closing.
