WASHINGTON D.C. — President Trump is telling the nation’s governors to “dominate” when responding to the rioters and violence that has erupted over the last several nights. President Trump made the remarks in a teleconference with the nation’s governors Monday.

He was critical of the response in cities like New York and Minneapolis. The White House said states need to take stronger action by deploying the National Guard troops.

“Governors across the country must act,” White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany said. “Deploy the National Guard as it fits and protects American communities.”

Crowds of protesters once again lined the streets in Washington D.C. Monday. It came after groups of peaceful protesters gathered Sunday before chaos erupted overnight. Rioters burned buildings and police officers used pepper spray.
