THOMPSON, Conn. — A Connecticut prep school is investigating the suicide of a 15-year-old Sutton boy.

Connor Tronerud, 15, killed himself earlier this month while attending the Marianapolis Preparatory School in Thompson, Connecticut.

His parents said Connor struggled with bullying in school - even writing about it in his obituary.

This week, officials at the school sent a letter home to parents, letting them know they hired a lawyer to conduct a "thorough, independent review" of what happened to Connor.

Connor's parents haven't commented on the school's investigation, but Connor's parish priest spoke with the Worcester Telegram & Gazette.

He said Connor has been seeing a counselor for a year because of bullying.

"He couldn't understand how people could be so rotten to each other," Rev. Dan Mulcahy, the pastor of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish in Mulbury, said. "Something must have broken in Connor. He didn't do the breaking. Someone else did."

The school hasn't said whether any students have been implicated in the alleged bullying.
