DURHAM, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Police have learned that a student at the University of New Hampshire falsely reported that she was physically assaulted early Saturday morning.
The student described her assailant as a man in a dark hooded sweatshirt who grabbed her by the waist while she was walking on a campus path between Hubbard Hall and Christensen Hall. The student said she began screaming, which is when people in the area started to walk towards her and her assailant fled.
Police reported on Wednesday that the report was false.
