MANCHESTER, N.H. — A 16-year-old who police say had a knife in his backpack was arrested at Manchester Memorial High School after fireworks were set off in the bathroom, according to a release from Manchester Police.
Around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, police say their resource officer was notified of fireworks having been set off in the bathroom.
Administrators questioned a 16-year-old student about it and the student subsequently refused to leave the school.
Two police detectives say the student became unruly and elbowed or kicked both detectives.
Police say they were eventually able to detain the student and found a knife in the student's backpack.
The student was released to his mother after arriving at the Manchester Police Department.
