SOMERVILLE, Mass. – State police are searching for the driver who they say fled from the scene of a car crash and dragged the other driver.
The crash happened around 8 p.m. on Route 16 east in Somerville near Boston Avenue.
Police say the driver of one car, a 23-year-old woman from Cambridge, went to speak with the other driver involved, but that second driver, a 35-year-old Malden man, took off.
The second driver then continued to travel east without stopping.
The Cambridge woman was dragged for about ¼ of a mile, but eventually freed herself near Whole Foods in Medford.
The woman who was dragged was taken to Boston Medical Center by ambulance but her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Police say the driver of the Jeep went to the Medford barracks and spoke with investigators.
No charges have been filed at this time.
State police say the crash is still under investigation.
